Wildcat Canyon Regional Park encompasses 2,789 acres along the Wildcat Creek watershed and the surrounding hills and ridges. The park stretches from the Tilden Nature Area above the Berkeley Hills in the south to historic Alvarado Park at the northern edge in Richmond. With sweeping trails, oak woodlands, and the paved Nimitz Way extending from Inspiration Point, Wildcat Canyon provides vital open space for wildlife and recreation alike.

The Berkeley chapter partners with the East Bay Regional Park District to support stewardship of this treasured landscape through trail work, habitat restoration, and community engagement. By mobilizing students to care for Wildcat Canyon, we help ensure that its ecosystems remain resilient and accessible for generations of hikers, bikers, equestrians, families, and nature lovers across the East Bay.

Joining the Ecological Preservation Society is easy, just bring your enthusiasm for protecting the environment.
Attend one of our weekly meetings, or reach out by email at ecopreservation.berkeley@gmail.com.
Whether you’re interested in volunteering, learning about local conservation efforts, or connecting with fellow students, we welcome anyone ready to make a positive impact.
